Meet Quinn (4), Ashling (10), and Cade (7). Since saying goodbye to the classroom, grandchildren have become my students and the preferred activities are doing MakerSpace projects, bicycling and camping.
Our first camping adventure was a three day outing in August to North Carolina's Hanging Rock State Park. We explored the waterfalls, hiked several trails, and played in the lake. It was a great first adventure.
Our next adventure was a four day camping trip in early October to North Carolina's Stone Mountain State Park. Stone Mountain has water falls, hiking trails, streams, and lots of woods. We took along our bicycles as an additional activity. Wading along the streams looking for crayfish and water striders was another goal. Stone Mountain has a huge granite dome that is a central feature of the park. It's great fun climbing to the top.
