How Things Work & Famous Scientists

As an end-of-the-year project 7th grade students were asked to choose a "How Things Work" or "Famous Scientist" topic, research it in the Media Center and on the Internet, and then create a podcast explaining to listeners what they had learned.

After taking notes on their topic, students created a storyboard and a podcast "script" which they submitted for review. Once their storyboard and script had passed the review process, they could then record their "podcast" on iRiver mp3 player/recorders, transfer the file to a PC, and then begin editing the sound file.

This project required the use of several different pieces of computer software including: 1) Audio editing software; 2) multi-track sound editing software; and 3) for the titles ... digital picture editing software (Photoshop).
