Cry Wolf Chronicles Will Be OFF-LINE until Sept., 2008
The 7th grade web-based newspaper, "Cry Wolf Chronicles," has ended production for the 2007-08 school year. It's been an interesting run this year with lots of interest from students in the beginning of the year and almost no interest from students after the winter holidays. We produced thirty-three issues with eight different articles running each week.

Newspapers require lots of readers and a core group of capable writers. A "volunteer" newspaper relies heavily on its members to produce an interesting edition each week. Without a healthy selection of both readers and writers, it is difficult to maintain a viable publication.

Thank you to all of the web reporters who faithfully provided articles and updates during the school year. We've had active interest and lots of comments on articles that have been submitted.

Cry Wolf Chronicles to Go OFF-LINE
From previous experience MrC has learned that it is best to take the "Cry Wolf Chronicles" OFF-LINE during extended vacations from school. While students don't like this and fuss and fume about their beloved newspaper disappearing, it does protect the newspaper from SPAM and off-color posts which visitors and students make when they think no one is watching.

MrC would like to take a break as well, and he doesn't really  want to have to check the newspaper daily  to guard against inappropriate comments. So, the newspaper is hidden and protected. If you simply MUST post a comment, use this blog window and post a comment HERE.  Other wise we will resume production each Friday starting the first week of January. The newspaper club will now only meet on Fridays due to conflicts with other clubs.

Newspaper to Go OFF-LINE over Summer
As of Friday of this week, the Cry Wolf Chronicles will go off-line to protect the newspaper during the summer vacation. The front page of the newspaper will be replaced with a single page containing a single blog. You may add comments to the main entry, but the regular blog windows will be unavailable.

It's been a great ride this year. Thank you to all of our loyal readers and web-writers for participating in our web-based newspaper for the second year of operation.

What Movies Have You Seen Over the Holidays?
Last night I saw  "Dream Girls" and thought it was very, very good. Lots of great songs, superior acting, and a wonderful story line. Are there any movies that YOU have seen over the holidays that you would like to talk about?

Question #1: Can Reindeer Really Fly?

OK, you wanted the window to change periodically.

So here is the first question for vacationing students:

Can reindeer really fly? and... if not.... how does Santa Claus get all those presents distributed around the world?
