Slime Lab 2/17

Maker Space Activity -- Making Slime!

There are lots of recipes on the web for making slime. Most of them focus on using Elmer's School Glue, a bit of water, and a small amount of borax (washing powder) dissolved in water as the "hardening" agent. Borax essentially makes the Elmer's Glue clump together in long chain polymer fashion. In other words it results in a chemical reaction. The more of the "hardening" agent you add, the stiffer the slime becomes. The trick is to add just enough to get the Elmer's Glue to the right consistency. Doing this takes practice and patience.
