March MakerSpace Activity: Scrap Wood Sculptures
The kids were required to use an electric sander or sand paper to smooth edges, our MakerSpace band saw to cut out specialty shapes, and a glue gun to attach all the pieces. I used a circular saw to cut out the base plates.
The goal was to take a pile of small wood scraps and create a visually interesting abstract "sculpture" that was at least 10" tall and not wider or longer than their base.
Each person made two sculptures -- one to take home and one to stay at the MakerSpace.
